mid March — December 24th!
Did you know that the annuals in our greenhouses are grown here on the farm?!
From the spring blooming Dutch bulbs to our Christmas poinsettias, we have four vibrant seasons of flowers to offer. Come wander through the greenhouses and get inspired by our spring pansies, vegetables, herbs, summer annuals, perennials, & hardy Chrysanthemums. If you have any questions please ask our knowledgeable staff for assistance.
Abma’s Farm greenhouses open each spring in mid-March with a large selection of seeds, bulbs, soil, and unique pottery. Our signature potted Dutch bulbs are budded and ready to bloom.
Fun Fact: Spring bulbs can be enjoyed inside and later planted outside to return the following spring.
Pansies bring color to your garden until the danger of frost has past (frost free date May 15). By mid April, we will have an array of early season perennials, herbs, and cool season vegetables ready to be planted.
We grow a wide assortment of premium annuals for both sun and shade areas. They are available in several sizes (our most popular size is 9″ landscape) as well as hanging baskets. Purchase a designer container garden and place on your patio, along your walkway, or drop into a unique urn. We have a large selection of perennials, vegetables and herbs to complement our annual flowers.
Our knowledgeable greenhouse staff will be glad to answer any questions or help you make the right selection for your site.
Fall on the farm is known as instant gratification season! Match the crisp sunny days and cool nights of autumn with our field grown hardy chrysanthemums, kale, and cabbage. Decorate with pumpkins and gourds for contrasting pops of color, and don’t forget hay bales and corn stalks. Our gorgeous container gardens will surely brighten up your yard and patios.
Fall is a good time for planting, whether it is a garden make-over or just a little sprucing up. Check out our late season perennials! Montauk Daises, asters and ornamental grass make a great addition to the fall garden.
We have everything you need to spruce up your home for the holidays; trees, wreaths, grave blankets, kissing balls, cyclamen, Christmas cactus, and more! Check out our huge bow selection and beautifully decorated wreaths. Poinsettias are no longer just red; come see all the bright and festive colors available. On select Saturdays in November and December, meet and greet Santa and Mrs. Claus in the greenhouses!
If there was something special you had in mind and don’t see it, ask one of our sales personal about a custom order.
Come and check out our large selection of Fairy and Miniature Garden Accessories!
Abma’s Farm Summer Camp utilizes our own greenhouses and vegetable fields to provide an exciting and educational experience for kids. Camp goals include: gardening, farming, learning about nature’s creatues, and learning how our environment works. We put a fun spin on education, making sure all children enjoy their summer, while gaining valuable knowledge about the outdoors.
